Job description

Job Description:
Summary:
Under the supervision of the PI, the Research Assistant will assist with the acquisition and analysis of scientific data to help to program cognitive tasks and test healthy adults. The Research Assistant will also assist in the collection and pre-processing of EEG, MRI and pupillometry data from study participants. The Research Assistant will also help support laboratory operations by coordinating undergraduate lab members, preparing and submitting administrative documents, and carrying out research activities for the PI and associated post-doctoral fellows and graduate students.
Research in the laboratory of Matt Nassar focuses on analyzing the relationship and differences between computational principles to better understand how their application in modular information-processing systems impacts decisions and complex behavior.
This is a fixed term position for one year, which may be extended based upon available funding.
Job Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, or related field, with prior related undergraduate research experience or extensive coursework required. (Grade 7)
  • Required: 1-2 years' relevant experience (grade 8)
  • And/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous lab experience with related approaches preferred.

Job Competencies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, organizational skills
  • Basic programming knowledge and familiarity with software packages for data analysis, spreadsheets and word processing
  • Knowledge of general laboratory maintenance and study protocols.
