FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY (FVSU), a state and land-grant institution of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for the position of Research Assistant Professor of Agribusiness/Agricultural Economics.Fort Valley State University, the only 1890 land-grant university in Georgia, is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2,800 students including graduate students. The university is located in the town of Fort Valley in Peach County, the original site of the state's peach industry. Specific areas of interest include agricultural marketing, agribusiness management, risk management, agricultural finance or other related areas. Research is expected to result in empirical reports that facilitate the decision-making process of policy makers and farmers and publications in leading academic journals.ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Write grant proposals and work diligently to obtain external funding.Manage research project independently. Including design questionary, organizing surveys, conduct data analysis, organize workshops and seminars.Apply economic, econometric, and statistical principles and concepts to conduct high quality research and analysis.Present research results in various conferences and make publications in peer reviewed journalsSupervise research professionals and research assistants in the research group.Collaborate with colleagues from different science disciplines in and out of campus.Provide leadership in agribusiness research issues by working with limited resource farmers in Georgia.Other duties may be necessary for the successful performance of this position.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Ph.
