Job Summary
The Research Associate training program is designed as a 2-3 year experience that includes interdisciplinary team meetings, lab presentations, attendance at talks and medical Grand Rounds, journal article discussions, and training in cognitive and neuroimaging research. The fellow will gain experience in mentorship and grant-writing to transition the fellow into an independent scientist.
Minimum Education and Experience
Ph.D in a related field.
Candidates who have successfully completed all requirements for the Ph.D. but whose degree has not yet been formally conferred may be eligible to begin employment provided they submit an official letter from the Registrar or Graduate School of the degree-granting institution certifying that all doctoral requirements have been satisfied and specifying the expected date of conferral. Appointment and continued employment are contingent upon formal conferral of the Ph.D.
Preferred Education and Experience
The successful applicant should have earned a Ph.D. in a relevant area (psychology, cognition and neuroscience, neuroscience)and have research experience relevant to analyzing MRI-based datasets (task-based fMRI, rsFC, DTI, structural MRI). Candidates must have excellent quantitative, writing and communication skills.
Expertise in R, Matlab programming, Linux computing, and familiarity with neuroimaging software tools (FSL, AFNI, SPM) is preferred.
Other Qualifications
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Post-Doctoral Associate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities on ongoing projects including managing study personnel/students. This may include planning, conducting and directing a wide variety of experiments and evaluating and interpreting research data. The fellow will also be responsible for data management, processing and analysis. The post-doc will make significant contributions towards the presentation and publication process of findings at meetings and conferences.

Hybrid remote work environment available and a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement is required upon employment. Use of personal computer and other standard office equipment may be required. Must be located within the State of Texas (or Must be located within the
DFW Area) and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice.
