Instructional Student Assistant - Grader Pool

POSITION

The Department of Computer Science at CSUF invites applications for its Instructional Student Assistant - Grader Pool.
The Grader will assist faculty by evaluating and scoring student assignments in a timely and consistent manner, in accordance with established grading rubrics. This position plays an essential role in supporting academic excellence and helping maintain instructional quality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate and grade assignments and/or projects based on provided rubrics or answer keys
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling student work and grades
  • Provide timely feedback and scores to the instructor
  • Track and record grades accurately using designated systems (e.g., Canvas, Excel)
  • Notify the instructor of any concerns related to academic integrity or unclear/ambiguous student submissions

REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates must be a currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student in the Computer Science department
  • Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students
  • Computer Science major; GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Eligible to work in the United State and can provide eligibility documents

COMPENSATION

All Instructional Student Assistant appointments are made under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the United Auto Workers.  Initial appointments are for one semester only.

Classification Range: $17.86 - $23.84 per hour
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualification, not to exceed $20.00
