Primary Purpose
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the field of computer science designed to help them fulfill their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills in coding, programming, computational thinking, cybersecurity, digital literacy, and technology applications that prepare them for college, careers, and future opportunities.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate certification for assigned teaching area
  • Computer Science certification preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills
  • Knowledge of computer science curriculum and instructional strategies
  • Ability to teach coding, programming, and technology concepts
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity, networking, robotics, and/or data science concepts preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to integrate technology into instruction
  • Ability to analyze student performance data and adjust instruction accordingly

*Please note that this role requires in-person attendance and is not eligible for remote work.
Sheldon ISD will accept applications for this position through May 12, 2026. After this date, applications will continue to be accepted in the event a suitable candidate is not identified. If no viable candidate is selected from the initial applicant pool, applications submitted after May12th will be reviewed in five-day intervals until a candidate is recommended for hire.
