Job Title: Planning Intern                                                              Department: Planning  

Classification: Non-Exempt / Hourly                                            Reports to: Production Planning Manager

Job Qualifications:

  1. Advanced experience in MS Office
  2. Basic experience with ERP and WMS systems, Power BI, Smartsheet
  3. Excellent mathematical, communication and computer skills, be strongly detail oriented and be able to easily multi-task.
  4. Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision.
  5. Strong teamwork skills, both as a lead and supporting member.
  6. Well-developed interpersonal skills and professional demeanor, with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with employees and others at any level within YCH, as well as vendors and customers, if needed.
  7. Professional level writing and verbal communication skills.
  8. Must be detail oriented, and able to multi-task as well as focus on the task at hand.  Able to prioritize and perform or solve work problems to achieve work objectives and meet deadlines.
  9. Follow written (Standard Operation Procedure-SOP’s, company memos & emails), and verbal instructions.
  10. Possess a strong work ethic to positively contribute to the company’s mission, vision, values and environmental policies and quality policies.
  11. Must have a positive attitude, support co-workers to obtain desired objectives, and assist others in their contributions.

Job Summary:

 The Planning Intern will assist in various parts of the planning process.  Focusing mainly on work order auditing and work order creation.  They will also assist various department with requests by maintaining the helpdesk.  The Planning Intern will act as backup and be cross trained on various aspects and fill in as needed.

Job Duties:

  1. Assist in auditing work orders for accuracy.
  2. Perform data entry functions for the Master Production Schedules.
  3. Create work orders throughout the production season.
  4. Assist in maintaining the Planning Helpdesk.
  5. Maintain sanitary and safe work environment and follow safety requirements.
  6. May actively participate on company’s Safety Committee.
  7. Ensure that company safety policies as well as federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations are observed.
  8. Must have a complete understanding of company’s policies, Employee Handbook, SOPs, QPs, EPs, HACCP and cGMP that pertain to their department to ensure quality, safety, efficiency and sustainability.
  9. Must adhere to all company policies.
  10. Examine documents, materials, and products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy and conformance to standards and specifications.
  11. Follow all SOPs in a given area.
  12. Perform all other duties as assigned by Manager and/or designee.
