Job Overview

As an Engineering Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting engineering projects, technical analysis, operations, and problem-solving. Depending on your team and assignment, you may work across areas such as electrical, mechanical, civil, environmental, industrial, nuclear, renewable energy, or other engineering disciplines.
Throughout the internship, you'll have opportunities to strengthen your technical and analytical skills, learn from experienced professionals, collaborate across disciplines, and better understand how engineering supports safe, reliable, efficient, and innovative energy solutions.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assists Engineering teams with assigned projects, technical analyses, and engineering activities
  • Analyzes technical, operational, and performance data to identify trends and opportunities
  • Supports development, evaluation, testing, and implementation of engineering solutions
  • Assists with engineering calculations, models, drawings, specifications, reports, or documentation
  • Participates in project planning, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Works with engineers, technicians, operations teams, and cross-functional business partners
  • Helps evaluate equipment, systems, processes, or technologies
  • Identifies opportunities to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, quality, or performance
  • Contributes to meaningful projects that address real business and technical challenges
  • Develops technical, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills through hands-on experience
  • Presents project work, findings, and recommendations to team members and leadership
  • Takes ownership of assigned work, asks thoughtful questions, and actively seeks opportunities to learn and contribute
  • Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • Maintain active enrollment in a bachelor's degree or higher degree program
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Ability to complete a minimum 10-week internship, beginning no later than June 1
Preferred Qualifications
  • Pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to apply technical concepts to real-world situations
  • Familiarity with engineering software, data analysis tools, or technical applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn
  • Ability to collaborate effectively while also taking ownership of individual responsibilities
  • Interest in energy, technology, infrastructure, and engineering innovation
