Intern Position

As an Intern, you will be part of the team from day one and given training and tasks that are important and impactful to our projects' success. Interns in this role will learn how to identify, measure, and analyze quality risks in the business and support efforts in eliminating them.

Success in this role depends on the Intern's initiative and teamwork skills. A successful Intern will be able to lead Root Cause Analysis meetings, accurately read shop drawings, successfully assist the warranty team with logging calls and updating costs, and build visualizations for both warranty and rework data.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate regularly with Quality Team to discuss quality-related observations, warranty trends, and ensure shared understanding and resolution of quality concerns.
  • Support root cause analysis of events that compromise quality on construction projects and support initiatives to ensure sustainable solutions.
  • Review equipment documentation and construction shop drawings to mitigate quality and safety risks and identify economization opportunities.
  • Attend periodic jobsite and shop visits to learn about mechanical and plumbing systems, identify installation compliance to quality standards, and identify lean risks to safety and productivity.
  • Maintain and update the warranty call log by tracking key data such as manufacturer/vendor information, root cause, call status, and updates from project teams to assist with trend tracking across the company.
  • Assist warranty coordinators by scheduling service calls with dispatch and coordinating technician availability to support timely resolution of warranty calls.
  • Facilitate the creation of permanent reporting capabilities using Smartsheet or other software/technologies for the Quality team and internal customers.

Basic Qualifications:

Education and Experience - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Candidates must be enrolled at an accredited university majoring in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Business Management or a related degree. Candidates must be able to work at least 30 hours a week during regular business hours. Ability to use time productively. Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently as well as within a team. Maintain a strong attention to detail. Effective verbal and written communication across multidisciplinary teams (e.g., Project Managers, field staff, drafting, and shops).

Preferred Requirements:

  • Candidates who can work three or more full-time semesters.

Working Conditions and Physical Efforts:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.
  • No or limited exposure to physical risk; occasional jobsite visits may require climbing permanent and temporary stairs/ladders, passenger use of hoists, and navigating active construction areas.
