Job Description:
At Regions, the Intern works on department assignments while learning more about the financial services industry. As an intern, you will experience Regions' values while receiving job skills and training, personal development, and networking opportunities. Regions offers college internship opportunities within various departments.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Receives exposure to all basic functions of assigned group within the financial industry
  • Exposed to a wide range of tasks including research, administrative and correspondence work and attend meetings
  • Provides assistance in projects
  • Gains valuable insight within a variety of functions while strengthening core skills and knowledge needed to launch a successful career
  • Responsibilities will vary by internship

This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Requirements
  • A college student who has interest in developing technical skills and gaining work experience
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week for 10 weeks
  • Regions will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position. Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

At Regions, the Human Resources Emerging Talent Program Intern will complete a 10-week summer internship within Human Resources Data & Analytics.
Although much of your time will be dedicated to a specific area, the internship structure is designed to provide each intern broad exposure to Human Resources as a whole. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in networking and teambuilding activities, as well as professional development sessions. Additionally, you will gain exposure to senior leadership throughout Human Resources and the organization at large.
This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime under the non-exempt FLSA classification for hours worked in excess of 40 per week.
Additional Requirements:
  • A current undergraduate or graduate student with expected graduation between December 2027 and May/June 2029 interested in developing skills and gaining work experience
  • Open to all majors; business analytics, computer science, math/statistics, or related major preferred
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week for 10 weeks onsite, in Birmingham, Alabama

Additional Preferences:
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access/SQL database development
  • Familiarity with Power Builder development and VB Macro development in Excel
  • Familiarity with R or Python
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar tools

Skills and Competencies:
  • Ability to collaborate with both technical and business staff
  • Aptitude for math and the ability to review and understand numeric data, graphs, and statistics
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
