Discovery Ranch South dedicated to supporting adolescents through evidence-based, trauma-informed mental health and behavioral health services. Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to help youth build resilience, develop healthy coping skills, and create meaningful change.

Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, motivated Clinical Intern to join our adolescent treatment team. This internship provides hands-on experience delivering therapeutic services to adolescents ages 13 - 17, under the supervision of licensed clinicians. Interns will gain exposure to a variety of modalities, including individual therapy, family therapy, and group interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, and family sessions under licensed supervision
  • Conduct intake assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and treatment planning
  • Co-facilitate evidence-based groups (e.g., DBT skills, CBT, emotional regulation, substance use education)
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
  • Participate in weekly supervision and multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Support crisis intervention efforts in accordance with program protocols
  • Collaborate with caregivers, schools, and community partners as needed
  • Uphold ethical standards, confidentiality laws, and trauma-informed care practices

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral program in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field
  • Eligible for clinical internship/practicum placement through academic program
  • Strong interest in working with adolescents and families
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, supportive clinical environment
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • Commitment to cultural humility, inclusivity, and client-centered care

Preferred (but not required)

  • Experience supporting youth in mental health, school, residential, or community settings
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed treatment approaches
  • Bilingual or multilingual candidates encouraged to apply
