Job description

THE ROLE

On the Advanced Concept team, You will play a key role by evaluating and developing concepts and prototypes, working with various mechanical engineering functions and segments across the corporation. Through this position, you will work on early stage engineering projects, assessing business needs, evaluating technical feasibility of new ideas, and developing new concepts and prototypes. .

YOUR IMPACT

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern in the Advanced concepts group, your experience may include:

  • Brainstorming new products and technology to drive innovation across the corporation

  • Evaluate potential new products and technology considering the business case, voice of the customer, and technical feasibility

  • Develop and manage engineering requirements for concepts and prototypes

  • Generate engineering calculations of weight distribution, stress analysis, performance estimations, etc.

  • Select parts or components for quality conscious design, i.e., weight, cost, reliability, and ease of manufacturing

  • Design new concepts and prototypes using CATIA and CAD software

  • Consult with industry partners, customers, and internal departments to solve complex problems

  • Assist with early concept mock up, and prototype build

  • Perform or assist in the testing of complete vehicles or vehicle components

MINIMUM QUALIFICAITONS

  • Student working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field

  • Willing to travel or relocate to Oshkosh, WI for the duration of the summer 2026 internship. Summer housing is available to interns whose permanent address is greater than 50 miles from their work location

Pay Range:

$18.00 - $37.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
