General Summary
The Department of Athletics at Indiana Tech serves as an integral part of the university and is an important participant in its mission. The commitment of the Department of Athletics is to enhance the student experience and to provide quality programs that are competitive, fun and meaningful in an atmosphere that promotes success within the spirit of fair play, sportsmanship and integrity.
The Department of Athletics - Esports Graduate Assistant position shall support the student-athlete experience by executing duties directly related to the success, engagement, and retention of JV student-athletes through academic and personal mentorship and individual athletic and technical development.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as a direct contact for Indiana Tech Athletics and appropriate sports as assigned, including, but not limited to the following:
    1. Supervising and running gameday operations, including set up and tear down of equipment, game stats, PA announcing, photography, etc.
    2. Media publications for games/events (writing stories/articles, creating graphics)
    3. Communicating with media/opponent schools/conferences to coordinate game/event tasks
    4. Maintaining athletic website and social media accounts
    5. Overseeing/managing student employees
  • Support the recruitment and enrollment goals of the sport program and Department of Athletics;
  • Support the mission, vision, and strategic plan of Indiana Tech
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Valid Operator's License and a good driving record required
  • Have current First Aid/CPR training; or the ability to obtain such before employment

Experience
  • Prior participation experience with a sports program (ex. playing, managing, supporting)
  • General understanding of most sports
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite programs and photography

Working Conditions
  • Nights and weekends required
  • Travel for competitions required
