Job description


Position Description:
Builds APIs and Digital capabilities that support Fidelity's large scale digital presence. Designs and develop re-usable APIs that focus on customer experience needs and optimize quality and deployment practices. Develops data structures, and design patterns and builds highly scalable software systems using Java Web Services and API solutions. Implements Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and builds RESTful services, XML/JSON, and modern Application Servers. Designs and develops microservices through the use of programming languages and frameworks such as Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring Core and JavaScript. Develops DevOps, Continuous Integration and Delivery tools like Jenkins, Maven, uDeploy, Stash and Docker. Develops highly scalable distributed systems using Open source technologies. Develops web application using JSP, HTML, CSS/SASS, JQuery, Angular and NodeJS.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.

  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.

  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.

  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.

  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.

  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.

  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.

  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Full Stack Engineer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing highly transactional full stack multi-tier architectures in a financial services environment, using Angular, J2EE technologies (Java, Spring, REST APIs and Swagger), and RESTful Web services.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Full Stack Engineer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing highly transactional full stack multi-tier architectures in a financial services environment, using Angular, J2EE technologies (Java, Spring, REST APIs and Swagger), and RESTful Web services.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") designing and developing full stack Java-based multi-tier architectures, using SpringBoot, RESTful Web services, Oracle/ PostgreSQL Stored procedures, Messaging services (JMS or Apache Kafka), Groovy, and Camunda/BPMN.

  • DE designing and implementing on-premises and Cloud based self-service Java Web applications according to business requirements and architecture standards, using AWS Cloud based solution architecture, REST and SOAP APIs, and Swagger; developing Web API application features and performing end to end testing, using Junit, Mockito, TestNG, and Cucumber; and performing secure code analysis using SonarQube.

  • DE designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing front-end applications using Angular18+, TypeScript, NodeJS, and DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, and uDeploy), according to Agile software methodologies (Kanban and Scrum).

  • DE driving and implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate the build and deployment of Java-based microservices and Angular front ends, using Jenkins and GitHub; managing configurations using uDeploy; and monitoring logs and system metrics with Splunk and Datadog.
