Job Description

We are looking for a Manager of  Broadcast Technology to join the Technology & Operations team in the Northern California, supporting NBC Bay Area KNTV, T48 KSTS, T33 KCSO and T51 KNSO. As the Manager you will be primarily responsible for day-to-day oversight and management of the team implementing and supporting technology and users within our mission critical, media production and enterprise IT environment. Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the requirements gathering, planning, and implementation of technical and workflow solutions for News, Production, and Creative Services partners. 
  • Oversight & administration of media production applications, systems and infrastructure, including critical facility infrastructure, ensuring reliability of technology and operations. 
  • Responsible for staffing and supervisory duties of Production Operations Specialists, including hiring, scheduling and performance management in accordance with local station policies
  • Oversee technical support, incident response operations and customer communication. 
  • Provide processes, resourcing and guidance to ensure team objectives & SLAs are met. 
  • Hire, coach and develop team members throughout their career journey.  
  • Develop & maintain strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring effective communication.  
  • Ensure compliance with NBCUniversal cyber security policies and standards. 
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge of FCC rules and laws pertaining to news broadcasting on multi-media platforms, and employment and labor regulations 
  • Required onsite. This position is required to be performed full time onsite from an NBCUniversal designated work site. 
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  •  Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years of leadership experience involving people management, project leadership, or indirect leadership. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, radio, television & film, related fields, or equivalent experience. 

Skills & Experience we are looking for

  • Ability to articulate clear performance expectations, provide accountability for team members and communicate effectively across stakeholders at all levels.  
  • Leading support of mid to major market news or live event production operations & 24x7 mission critical technology facilities. 
  • Expertise in planning, implementation and support of media technology including SDI, NDI and (ST-2110) video infrastructures, contribution & distribution encoding, live production systems, news gathering tools, NRCS, NLE, media asset management, and transmission systems. 
  • Expertise in core IT fundamentals including administration of physical / virtualized / cloud compute & storage, networking, domain & identity management. 
  • History of successfully leading complex projects resulting in satisfied stakeholders.
