Job description

Radiance Technologies, a rapidly growing employee-owned company, is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to support the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado. This position supports a customer-funded, one-year effort with an anticipated period of performance from September 1, 2026, through August 31, 2027. The selected candidate will apply advanced data analytics techniques to support national security missions by researching and analyzing structured and unstructured data, developing complex database queries and analytical tools, and transforming data into actionable insights.
The Data Scientist will develop and implement data strategies using various data sources to support quantitative and qualitative content analytics and will apply knowledge of computer science concepts, data architecture, intelligence practices, and big-data environments. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Data Scientist will collaborate with Government and contractor personnel to integrate diverse data sources, contribute to new analytical capabilities across the enterprise, solve complex mission challenges, and communicate technical findings, recommendations, and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Particular emphasis will be placed on data curation in support of the Defense Intelligence Enterprise (DIE) Common Intelligence Feed (CIF) and data visualization in support of the Common Intelligence Picture (CIP).
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design and develop methods, processes, and systems to consolidate, integrate, and analyze structured and unstructured data.
  • Develop and apply advanced software programs, algorithms, query techniques, models, and automated processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate datasets.
  • Develop and execute complex database queries across multiple databases and Application Programming Interfaces using Python and other applicable programming languages.
  • Analyze requirements and evaluate technologies supporting data science capabilities, including Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and hypothesis testing.
  • Develop and implement data strategies using diverse data sources to support quantitative and qualitative content analytics.
  • Incorporate existing NRO- and NGA-developed AI-enabled automated collection strategies and Automated Target Recognition (ATR) models using Computer Vision (CV).
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to integrate diverse data sources, including SIGINT, GEOINT, All-source, and Targeting data.
  • Contribute to the development of new analytical tools, algorithms, and data science capabilities across the enterprise.
  • Identify meaningful insights, interpret analytical results, and communicate findings and recommendations to Government and contractor stakeholders.
  • Support data curation in support of the Defense Intelligence Enterprise (DIE) Common Intelligence Feed (CIF) and data visualization supporting the Common Intelligence Picture (CIP).
  • Develop analytical techniques to improve organizational performance and solve complex mission challenges.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging data analytics, artificial intelligence, and big-data technologies.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or another relevant STEM discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience performing intelligence analysis, data analysis, or closely related work. Eleven (11) years of task-related experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
  • Experience with AWS or a similar cloud computing provider.
  • Demonstrated experience solving problems using structured and unstructured data.
  • Demonstrated experience applying statistical analysis and data visualization techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer science concepts, data architecture, intelligence practices, and managing data in big-data environments.
  • Experience performing complex data analysis and database queries.

Desired Qualifications
  • GIS Systems Engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with Palantir programs.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately two weeks per year for conferences and coordination with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience working on data science projects in multiple domains and providing new capabilities to the organization and customers.

Position Duration
This position supports a customer-funded effort with an anticipated period of performance from September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2027. Employment is expected to conclude upon completion of the customer requirement. While Radiance cannot guarantee follow-on work after the period of performance, employees are welcome to apply for other open positions within the company for which they are qualified.
Salary Range
$150,000 - $175,000
