Job description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting the dynamic learning environment of a K-5 specialty elementary school renowned for its focus on mathematics, science, and engineering. Help shape young minds as an onsite Emotional Behavior Disorder (EBD) Center-based Special Education Teacher. This position offers the chance to work closely with students in a collaborative, innovative setting enriched by programs like Project Lead the Way Launch, designed to spark curiosity and creativity in engineering and computer science.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
  • Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably with expertise supporting students with emotional and behavioral needs
  • Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and best practices in behavioral interventions
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Must submit a current Minnesota teaching certificate and updated resume for presentation

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction, accommodations, and behavioral support to students within the EBD program
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals tailored to individual student needs
  • Establish a positive, structured learning environment using evidence-based strategies
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student progress and well-being
  • Integrate specialty curriculum elements, supporting Monroe Elementary’s focus on STEM and engineering concepts through everyday learning activities

This contract offers a full-time schedule—Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week—spanning the academic year from early September 2026 to June 2027. You’ll make a tangible difference in both student achievement and social-emotional growth within a supportive school community.
