Job description

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's Degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, IT Associate/Consultant, IT Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, IT Associate/Consultant, IT Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Designing, developing, and deploying scalable microservices-based architectures; Building enterprise-level applications using J2EE technologies and frameworks; Automating build, dependency management, and deployment processes using Maven; Monitoring and optimizing application performance using Dynatrace APM tools; Creating lightweight, production-ready Java applications with Spring Boot; Implementing efficient ORM solutions using Hibernate for database interactions; Designing, optimizing, and managing relational databases using SQL; Developing and integrating cloud-based storage solutions using AWS S3; Building and deploying containerized applications on AWS ECS/EKS; Developing and deploying cloud-native applications on Cloud Foundry; Developing dynamic and interactive web applications using JavaScript; Building scalable, maintainable web applications with TypeScript; Developing responsive and scalable front-end applications using React.js; Building robust single-page applications (SPAs) using Angular; Designing and optimizing enterprise-grade databases using Oracle technologies; Developing real-time data streaming and messaging solutions with Apache Kafka; Developing and managing database connectivity in Java applications using JDBC; Implementing messaging-based communication using Java Message Service (JMS); Writing and executing unit tests for Java applications using Junit; Developing modern, responsive web applications using HTML5; Performing load and performance testing using Apache Jmeter.
