Position Title:

Assembly Control Engineer

Who We're Looking For:

Assembly Production Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Assembly control engineer. The primary responsibility of this role is to design, source, program & start up controls projects as well as Introduce/Lead/Teach New Technology. Reporting to the Assembly control manager, the person in this role will support the Battery Pack and Final Assembly Production Engineering department's objective to provide high quality, low cost and reliable plant equipment and control system.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design and Manage Control System Projects within Assembly Shop
  • Design and implement control algorithms and software programs for machine control and data collection systems
  • Perform control algorithms and software for complex systems
  • Perform feature and integration builds of software
  • Manage strategic business plans aligning with department hoshin for Assembly Production Information system.
  • Study past project and/or operation performance to determine areas of improvement, perform root cause analysis, and implement kaizens to improve performance.
  • Negotiate and collaborate with cross functional divisions / departments to ensure One voice and direction is set to achieve company objectives and decision making.
  • Support Assembly Engineering planning and regional teams with model change implementation, Hoshin initiatives and innovation.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical, electrical or computer science or equivalent experience
  • Read and write SQL, Computer, PLC codes in order to investigate production control system.
  • Knowledge of control system architecture and design expertise
  • Position related experience in Control Engineering
  • Experience in Embedded Controls Algorithm, Software Engineering
  • Project management experience in scope creation, stake holder analysis, plan building, procurement service, progress monitor with contractors, scope, quality and cost controls
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and presentation skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong ability to effectively communication with multiple levels within the organization
  • Strong organizational and managing skills
  • Strong problem solving capabilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in mechanical, electrical or computer science
  • 2+ years experience on assignments at Toyota Motor North American Production Engineering or other Automotive Manufacturing facilities
  • 2+ years current Assembly Engineering experience
  • 2+ years experience on Production Management System installation projects
  • 2+ years TOYOPUC/ Omron/ Rockwell PLC experience
  • 2+ years experience in Software Engineering
  • Experience with PLC IO and Data networks (ControlNet, DeviceNet, EthernetIP, FLNET)
  • Experience with Webpage Design
