Job description

Under the direction of the Director of IT, the IT Intern will provide technical support at the hospital and off-site locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support business operations in the use of computer-based programs, software, phones, and network systems.
  • Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
  • Assist with setup of equipment for employee use, performing proper installation of cabling, operating systems, and appropriate software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve PC, printer, hardware, network, and security issues.
  • Refer major hardware or software problems to Director of IT.
  • Work with IT support team, vendors, and external resources.
  • Provide exemplary customer support service to employees who need assistance with IT related issues.
  • Work on various IT projects as assigned.
  • Demonstrates clear ownership of workplace and patient safety.
  • Reports mistakes, near misses, adverse events and quality and safety concerns.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of safety and quality improvement activities.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Job Qualification Requirements:
Education: HS Graduate/GED required. Must be actively enrolled or seeking a degree in information technology, computer science or related field.
Licensure/Certification: Valid Indiana Driver's license in good standing required.
Experience: Experience working with laptop computers, desktop workstations, tablets and printers preferred. Basic knowledge of personal computer hardware and software and Windows server based operating systems. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records software preferred. Strong analytical ability for analyzing systems and procedures, as well as exceptional problem-solving skills. Good organizational skills and ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements: Standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting and moving computer items as needed; may lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
