The Civil Aftermarket group aims to keep flight simulators up to date so that they are at the cutting edge of the various aeronautical improvements that the industry offers. Our employees design innovative solutions to meet technological challenges on a daily basis.

Join a team of 5 technicians in our office located in Mount Hope, Hamilton. You will be working on a newer generation 7000XR full flight simulator. Flight simulation training device is approved under Transport Canada -TP 9685.

The Simulator Technician I performs routine technical tasks in a simulator, laboratory, office, plant, or field environment. This role receives training in various phases of technical work and supports simulator operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer service activities.
Shift: Morning Shift (6:00 AM to 4:00 PM)
Responsibilities include:
  • Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on simulators and associated systems.

  • Assist in diagnosing and correcting technical issues on simulators and associated systems.

  • Utilize the maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.

  • Complete all assigned training activities.

  • Perform pre-flight and post-flight procedures on designated simulators.

  • Conduct basic visual alignments.

  • Execute automated Qualification Test Guide (QTG) procedures.

  • Assist with simulator refurbishment activities and hardware modifications.

  • Learn and comply with the organization's quality management system.

  • Provide customer service support and respond to customer needs in a timely manner.

  • Perform housekeeping activities required to maintain simulator readiness and functionality.

  • Support logistics activities, including receipt of parts, repairs, testing, and validation.

  • Complete administrative tasks as assigned.

  • Support the technical services team with additional tasks as required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree (2-year technical degree) in a technical discipline or 4 years of experience in an electronic, avionics, or related technical field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant technical experience.

  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules.

  • Ability to interpret system drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.

  • Experience operating test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and logic analyzers.

  • Knowledge of analog and digital electronics theory.

  • Computer literacy and familiarity with PC hardware and computer architecture.

  • Proficiency in soldering and circuit board repair.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting simulator systems or related technical equipment.

  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

  • Experience performing troubleshooting, repair, testing, and validation activities.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide customer-focused technical support.

  • Experience working within a quality management system environment.

Base Pay Range

Our total rewards package includes base pay and benefits, with final compensation determined by experience, skill, location, and internal equity.

Pay rate range: $58,000 - $62,000 CAD per year
