Job description

About the Team:

The Launch team operates at the intersection of every major aspect of Terran R, from stages and payloads to ground systems, launch, landing, and refurbishment. The Cape is the only place where you see it all come together, offering a level of exposure and responsibility unmatched elsewhere in the program. This is where first flights happen, where history is built on top of history, and where the scale of what's underway is unlike anything in modern aerospace. The mission stays the same, but the work evolves with every milestone: from first launch to reuse, high-cadence operations, and beyond. If you're looking to define what's next in space launch and write a new playbook, not just repeat what's already been done, this is where it happens.

About the Role:

  • Perform detailed in-process and final inspections of production hardware using CAD models, engineering drawings, process specifications, and work order requirements.
  • Review hardware requirements, determine pass or fail status, and document inspection results, nonconformances, and approved deviations.
  • Provide technical guidance during in-process work to help ensure company procedures, quality requirements, and applicable industry standards are met.
  • Collaborate with Test and Launch, Manufacturing, and Hardware Responsible Engineering teams to resolve quality issues and support production objectives, clearly communicating inspection findings to team members, engineers, and team leaders.
  • Conduct inspections and analyze findings to identify quality issues, support root cause analysis, and assist with implementing corrective actions.

About You:

  • Experience performing quality inspections in aerospace, aviation, or a similarly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience conducting in-process build inspections using precision measurement techniques and inspection tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, specifications, and internal or external quality standards.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance based on documented inspection requirements and established work standards.
  • Ability to safely lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and stoop, bend, crawl, or work in confined spaces as required to complete inspections.
  • Ability to work occasional night shifts and weekends and travel as business needs require.

Nice to haves but not required:

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications to document, analyze, and communicate inspection results.
  • Experience working in an aerospace startup or a similarly fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using NX, Teamcenter, Infor LN, or comparable engineering and enterprise systems.
  • Experience working within an AS9100-, ISO 9001-, or similarly certified quality management system, including use of Manufacturing Execution Systems or Enterprise Resource Planning systems.

Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at our government partner location in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
