Job description

The IT Project Manager role will support the execution of a variety of technical solutions across multiple business units at Client.

Background

RSC Digitalization: As part of Client''s continuous improvement in NERC Compliance systems, several projects are underway that are critical to continued business systems improvements. Client''s ability to both maintain and improve its NERC compliance posture will be critical to both Client and the energy industry.

Internal Audit:

·       The current Internal Audit (IA) strategy and processes could benefit from enhancements to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

·       The audit team is using tools and methodologies that require considerable manual effort, which can be time-consuming and may limit the thoroughness of audits.

·       This impacts the overall quality of audit outcomes.

·       Additionally, the IA department has an opportunity to modernize and align with technological advancements seen in other departments within the utility industry.

·       By integrating innovative technologies, the audit team can enhance their capabilities, streamline tasks, and modernize audit processes to keep pace with industry standards.

Capacity Forecasting:

·       Client currently operates a capacity price forecasting model that produces Client''s proprietary long-term capacity price forecast, which is reflected in Client''s 10-year financial plan and utilized by various departments to inform Client''s investment decisions and guide the implementation of Client''s strategy.

·       Client''s capacity price forecasting model was developed in-house and is currently Excel-based.

·       Being Excel-based limits the flexibility of the model and introduces operational risk. This project is a collaboration with IT to explore and implement a more robust solution, likely involving a database with a computational engine.

Job Functions & Responsibilities

·       Ability to coordinate and lead multiple projects as assigned.

·       Act as the bridge between the business and IT.

·       Support the IT workstream and project documentation through IT Project Delivery processes, procedures, and tools for assigned projects.

·       Monitor project schedules and deliverables.

·       Track progress and provide status updates to stakeholders.

·       Identify problems or situations that may impact project delivery.

·       Utilize IT project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) to drive technical solution delivery.

·       Assist in fulfilling requirements for the IT Project Delivery and IT Governance processes.

·       Work collaboratively with project teams, various IT teams, business unit staff, and vendor teams.

·       Promote and maintain communication between project team members and stakeholders while managing expectations.

·       Prepare correspondence, presentations, and reports as required.

·       Follow up on correspondence and outstanding requests to ensure timely resolution.

·       Required Skills

·       Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience with IT project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).

·       Proven project management skills, including stakeholder management, conflict resolution, risk mitigation, organizational skills, communication, daily stand-ups, status reporting, presentation creation, and vendor management.

·       Organized, deadline-driven, adaptable, and an effective planner and problem solver.

·       Ability to foster a positive and inclusive work environment by collaborating and communicating in accordance with professional standards.

·       Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across project teams and with internal and external stakeholders.

·       Demonstrated record of successful project delivery.

·       Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.).

Education & Certifications

·       Bachelor''s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

·       Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience, including successful coordination and delivery of multiple IT projects within a matrixed organization.

Education & Certifications
