Job Description
We are looking for a Project Sales Specialist to join our Gexpro team in Augusta, GA!
Summary:
The Project Sales Specialist is responsible for establishing relationships with customers and vendors to secure pricing positions for bids and and expand profitable sales in project business. Responsible for formulating project quotations for mid to large size projects, as well as placing orders, tracking shipments, and billing the customer correctly.
What You'll Do:
  • Quote mid to high profile/complex projects
  • Manage all aspects of high profile/complex projects that require a high level of product knowledge
  • Review bid package and all the requirements surrounding the package including technical requirements, approved manufactures list, commercial requirements, and documentation requirements
  • Work closely with Global Account Manager to discuss the strategy and approach for each proposal request.
  • Read through all Purchase Orders to get an understanding of requirements and makes sure terms and conditions are correct
  • Coordinate with vendors, customers and sales teams on pricing, order placement, claims and returned goods, and account management to ensure we are meeting customer expectations
  • Expedite backorders to maximize fill rates and customer satisfaction
  • Manage the delivery schedule, product quality, information updates and back charge
  • Proactively seek alternative methods to deliver the project on time and within budget
  • Provide timely price quotations, requotes, and/or proposals
  • Break down bid package and issues Request for Quotation (RFQ) to vendors for project quotation levels while communicating deadline, project information, and any additional pertinent information available
  • Participate in product meetings, seminars and training schools to enhance and maintain personal product knowledge
  • In addition to processing bids, increase business by utilizing company digital tools to sell, promote, or demonstrate product knowledge to new and existing customers
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
What You'll Need
  • 3+ years customer service, project manager, or related experience preferred
  • Experience with electrical distribution, lighting, controls, or adjacent industry experience preferred
  • High School or GED - Required

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Product and application knowledge being developed
  • Customer oriented and motivated with excellent communication, interpersonal skills, customer service, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of computer skills, specifically with Excel/Outlook/Word, PDF editor (Blue Beam or Adobe) and appropriate quoting tools
  • Ability to establish good relationships and credibility with all project stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate with sales team, customers, and vendors
  • Must possess an entrepreneurial spirit, be self-motivated, and enthusiastic about business
  • Desire and aptitude to learn quickly with a growth mindset/self-improvement, and continuous learning
