Job description

Description:

Develop interior and exterior lighting concepts that support architectural intent for a wide variety of buildings including Cultural Facilities, Colleges, Educational buildings, hospitals, corporate campuses and critical facilities. Select lighting fixtures, layouts and control strategies appropriate to the space and project goals. Perform lighting calculations and photometric analyses using industry software.


ยท Perform field inspections to verify and document existing site conditions.

ยท Create lighting layouts, calculations, luminaire selection, control system intent, and control system matrices.

ยท Effectively interpret industry standards, codes, and ordinances.

ยท Efficiently coordinate with internal and external members of the design team, including firm staff, client owners and architects.

ยท Coordinate and share pertinent project information with other disciplines and/or clients in a timely manner.

Requirements:

An associate degree from an accredited technical institution or college is required; a bachelorโ€™s or associate degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.


ยท 4+ yearsโ€™ experience in electrical design/drafting including the design and layout of lighting.

ยท Experience in Revit and Auto CAD.

ยท Experience in AGI32 or Elum Tools.

ยท Proven ability to read and understand both 2D and 3D drawings.

ยท Proficiency in MS Office.

ยท Superior communication skills.

ยท Understanding of local lighting market, manufacturers, and manufacturerโ€™s rep network.


The Work Environment:

ยท Work environment is primarily indoors at firmsโ€™ facility, with approximately 10% of time spent indoors/outdoors at project or construction sites where hard-hat and other safety gear is often required. (PPE is provided by firm.)

ยท While performing field work associated with this position employee will be required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and carry and/or climb ladders of varying heights.
