Department Overview

The Motorola Solutions Electrical Engineering team, based in Schaumburg, IL, specializes in designing and developing world-class digital solutions for the Mission Critical Communications market, including Public Safety. The Electrical Engineering development team develops state-of-the-art Digital, RF, Mechanical, and Power Supply solutions to meet their customers’ needs.

Job Description

A summer internship position with a primary focus on FPGA design for Infrastructure products. The position seeks a highly motivated individual to work under the guidance of a seasoned professional to assist design analysis and validation of the RF Site product development.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Development of the FPGAs includes capturing requirements
  • Writing code in C, VHDL and Verilog languages
  • Writing test scripts in Python, using diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot problems, and documenting device interface specifications.
  • Understanding Digital design and performing interfacing analysis to the FPGAs is a must
  • Bench-level testing using an Oscilloscope, DC PS, and multimeter is required.

Basic Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering
  • Must graduate date on or after December 2027
  • Must be a US Citizen, permanent resident, or an MS student with work authorization (F1 Visa on CPT accepted only for master 's-level students)
