Join Our Team as a PLC Co-op at Johnson Electric!

Location: Stratford, ON, Canada (onsite)
Salary Range: $22 - $25 per hour
Vacancy Type: Student position
Schedule: Full-time, Co-op term
Relocation: Not applicable
Travel: Minimal

As a member of the Maintenance team, the PLC COOP reports to the PLC Specialist. The PLC COOP is responsible for designing control systems for new machines, troubleshooting and/or modifying existing.Define and execute continuous improvement projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Designs, develops, and implements Control Systems

  • Programs PLC's (Allen Bradley and Siemens)

  • Programs HMI & servo systems and VFDs

  • Programs robotics and automation systems

  • Program and trouble shoot Vision systems (IR vision, Cognex, Keyence, Omron)

  • Designs control panels, wiring diagrams and BOM

  • Instructs maintenance personnel on the use, functionality, and programming of all automation systems

  • Mentors licensed Electricians and help them develop PLC programming and

  • troubleshooting skills

  • Assists in automation cell improvements and actively implements continuous

  • improvement initiatives related to automation and robotics.

  • Adheres to Johnson Electric's policies and procedures

  • Adheres and supports Johnson Electric's Safety and Environmental policies and practices

  • Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

  • A three-year advanced diploma or a degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or relative areas

  • Able to understand electrical drawings

  • Part of a program including programing courses.

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint or data and presentations software

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Proficient in English


REASONING ABILITY:
Good interpersonal skills
