Lecturer, Electrical and Computer Engineering
City: West Lafayette
Job Description:
Job Summary
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering at Purdue University, invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position of Lecturer at their West Lafayette location. A successful candidate for the position of lecturer will be expected to provide instructional support for the College of Engineering's program by directly teaching courses from the Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering curricula. The lecturer will hold primary responsibility for teaching, and assessment. The lecturer will also be responsible for supervising graduate teaching assistants, and undergraduate teaching assistants assigned to their courses.
Lecturer will be expected to teach up to 3 courses per semester in large enrollment classes.
Qualifications and Skills
The candidate must have at a minimum a M.S. degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or a closely related field and minimum of five years working in engineering or education. Preference is for experience in a professional setting or a teaching setting. Well qualified candidates will also have exceptional organizational and communication skills, an ability to work with people with diverse backgrounds, a motivating and inspiring presence. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to ongoing course development.
Expertise in teaching, strong communication and interpersonal skills, project management, organizational skills, expertise in some areas of Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering, knowledge of common office computer systems including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Powerpoint.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
