Overview:
Job Title: Audio Visual (AV) Programmer
Location: Tampa, FL
(Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.)
Description:
As an AV Programmer supporting government operations, you will play a critical role in delivering reliable, secure, and high-performance audiovisual systems tailored to mission requirements. This position is responsible for programming and configuring A/V control systems to support classified and unclassified environments, ensuring seamless integration with IT and communications infrastructure. You will collaborate with system engineers, integrators, and end users to implement technology solutions that meet rigorous performance, security, and operational standards. Your work directly impacts the effectiveness and readiness of key operational environments.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
  • Develop, program, and support control systems for audiovisual environments using platforms such as Crestron, AMX, or Extron.
  • Implement user interface designs and automation logic to streamline system usability and performance.
  • Conduct system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure operational reliability and compliance with technical requirements.
  • Integrate A/V components with IT infrastructure, video conferencing platforms, and other enterprise systems.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of A/V systems in secure and mission-critical facilities.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, including programming code, configuration files, and user manuals.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers, stakeholders, project teams, and subcontractors - maintaining alignment from project planning through final commissioning and customer acceptance.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in AV system programming and integration
  • Certified Crestron Programmer
  • Certification of Extron Authorized Professional
  • AVIXA CTS
  • Proficiency with control system programming (e.g., Crestron SIMPL/SIMPL+, Crestron Studio, AMX NetLinx, Extron Global Scripter)
  • Experience with DSP configuration, AV-over-IP, and unified communications systems
  • Prior federal / DoD project experience and familiarity with government submittal and closeout processes

Desired Qualifications:
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience in A/V system programming and integration within secure or mission-driven environments
  • Crestron Master Programmer Silver
  • Extron Authorized Programmer
  • AVIXA CTS-D/CTS-I

Education:
