Overview:
Seeking an experienced CAD designer to join our team. The CAD Designer position will work in conjunction with the engineering team to develop high pressure system and component designs using 3D and 2D CAD tools, producing high quality designs that meet requirements and delivery targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in CAD design and a practical understanding of manufacturing methods, ensuring that designs are both precise and efficient to produce.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Utilize 3D and 2D software to create single parts and assembly groups.
• Manage and organize CAD files via both our local server and cloud-based storage platforms.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to create safe and practical designs.
• Interface with our in-house assembly team to ensure they can follow designs sent to the floor and use their hands on knowledge & feedback to make improvements.
• Work closely with fabrication vendors to create a cost-effective design of purchased components.
• Updating and improving upon company standards and templates as required.
• Communicating with clients, engineers, floor personnel and vendors as required.
• Support system assembly with drawings and models and retrofits as required.
• Understand requirements and advise on CAD purchases for workstations, software, and licensing options.
• Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, tolerances and manufacturing practices.
• Knowledge of common manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, or fabrication.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to work independently on projects.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize designs while working on competing projects.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in CAD software, with a strong knowledge of CAD tools, such as SolidWorks, Inventor or AutoCAD.
• Strong PC skills and proficiency in using MS office products.
• Experience with high pressure gas and fluid equipment is a plus.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Associates or technical degree with solid modeling being a major component. 3-5 years of experience using solid modeling on a daily basis. Familiarity with sheet metal and metal frame construction.
