What You'll Do

This senior level position will define and implement CADD applications appropriate to specifications obtained from engineers and project managers.

DUTIES

  • Follow all corporate and job site safety procedures
  • Troubleshoots non-routine problems.
  • Recommend design changes.
  • Prepare cost and quantity estimates and/or design calculations.
  • Assist Practice Leader in establishing and maintaining coordination between the CADD staff and the engineers and project managers.
  • Assist Practice Leader in the supervision, training, and development of CADD personnel.
  • Implement quality control and standard operating procedures established by the Practice Leader
  • Improve and expand knowledge of relevant software, hardware, and current CADD techniques and standards.
  • Mentor junior CADD technicians
  • Works under general direction, receiving project guidance from an engineer

  • Compiles and interprets various types of data to support design and drafting tasks

  • Prepares and develops details, design plans, and specifications

  • Assists in maintaining workflow processes and CADD related training.

  • Improve and expand knowledge of relevant software, hardware, and current CADD techniques and standards

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Equivalent of a Bachelor's degree in engineering, design, or computer science
  • Training and experience may be substituted in lieu of education

Experience 

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required

Additional Requirements

  • A valid driver's license and have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, or have reliable transportation to and from the workplace
  • The ability to read, write, and perform basic math
  • The ability to comfortably communicate with the public
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office), including the ability to learn various types of company / client software
