Job Summary
Vulcan Industries is seeking a Laser/Punch Programmer for the 2nd shift. This role involves creating operating programs for Trumpf Punch, Trumpf fiber laser cutting equipment, and BLM tube laser using Pro-E and Trumpf/BLM software. The programmer assigns laser paths and tooling hits to enable the software to convert these into numeric codes, which are then downloaded into the specific equipment. Programs are developed based on customer requirements as directed by the supervisor. Additionally, the programmer manages material issuance for work orders to maintain accurate inventory control.
The ideal candidate must be available for in-house training during the day shift for an unspecified duration and be willing to travel for specialized software training as needed. This position requires onsite presence in Moody, AL and is not eligible for remote work.
Job Responsibilities

Gain extensive knowledge of equipment programmed.

Program equipment using PC and software.

Train operators as required. 

Maintain appropriate records. 

Report for work regularly and on time. 

Material Handling 

Able to read, understand and follow instructions from Operator's Manuals

Cross-train operating equipment as dictated by the supervisor. 

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications 

WORK ONSITE IN MOODY, AL - NOT A REMOTE POSITION

Knowledge of shop math, practical algebra, geometric construction, and essentials of trigonometry.

Ability to read instructions in use and maintenance of shop tools and equipment as well as methods and  procedures in mechanical drawings and layout work. 

Ability to prepare records using series of names, numbers, and simple sentences. 

Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively. 

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must have the ability to utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.) 

Other Skills 

Ability to operate or learn to operate various machines, such as: plant equipment and machinery, scales, tape measure, control gauges, computer keyboard, etc.
