Programmer IV (SAS Programmer / SAS Data Analyst)ย 
This position is a member of DWC's Information Management Services (IMS) team responsible for maintaining a SAS data warehouse for workers' compensation claims and medical data. Providing DWC programs and system participants with statistical information and developing automated solutions to meet DWC's business needs.

This position performs advanced (senior-level) SAS programming and data analysis work. Work involves testing, analyzing, and providing recommendations on data migration for legacy modernization projects. It involves analyzing proposed software solutions to ensure DWC data requirements are met. Writing SAS programs to develop statistical reports, documenting the methods and procedures used, and testing, correcting, or revising programs. May coordinate the work of other team members. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

This position:
ย ย ย ย Writes complex code in SAS 9.4 or SAS Viya using advanced SAS procedures, SAS macro language, and ODS output to develop original statistical reports, troubleshoot, or enhance existing reports.ย 
ย ย ย ย Evaluates business and system requirements to recommend which data should be migrated from legacy systems or created to meet new system requirements, ensuring all necessary data is included and persisted.
ย ย ย ย Assists with the management of DWC's SAS data warehouse to meet data reporting needs.ย 
ย ย ย ย Meets with program area users to gather, define, and validate business requirements necessary for programming work. Analyzes proposed programming projects in terms of requirements, capabilities, and time management; and may provide technical assistance and advice to other programmers.
ย ย ย ย Reviews and revises SAS programs to increase operating efficiency or to adapt to new procedures. Including documenting the methods and procedures used during development, testing, correcting, and revising programs.
ย ย ย ย Adheres to defined programming standards, database documentation, and business rules;
ย ย ย ย Performs other duties as assigned.ย 

This position requires: ย 
ย ย ย ย  Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, computer information systems, management information systems, accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field is generally preferred.
ย ย ย ย Three years of professional work experience in SAS 9.4 or SAS Viya environment, including SQL experience.ย 
ย ย ย ย Working knowledge of project management techniques.
ย ย ย ย Experience and education relevant to the position requirements may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.
