Job description

We are currently seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support our Aiken, SC location.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in an IT related discipline (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Technology. Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Digital Forensics, Cyber Security); or Non-related Bachelor degree with 2 years proven performance in related assignment(s); or

  • Associate Degree in IT related discipline (e.g. Information Technology, Computer Technology, Software Engineering, Non-related Associate Degree with 4 years proven performance in related assignment(s).

  • In lieu of degree, a high school diploma with at least 6 years of equivalent knowledge and experience is acceptable. Knowledge of computer and network digital systems used in business or process applications. Detailed knowledge in specific operating systems is desirable.

Required Skills:

  • Familiarity with cloud security concepts or compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, RMF, or NIST SP 800-series.

  • Knowledge of basic cybersecurity protections, principles, or frameworks (e.g., NIST).

  • Knowledge of basic computer and networking concepts, principles, and practices.

  • Strong written communication and composition abilities.

  • Must be able to participate in group problem solving including communicating effectively with both technical and nontechnical personnel, respect the ideas of others and accept the judgment of the group.

  • Must have a sense of when to ask for help and be comfortable in accepting guidance from other more senior technical personnel.

  • Must be familiar with available resource materials and be able to conduct timely research.

  • Demonstrated willingness to learn complex cybersecurity requirements and regulatory environments.

  • Ability to work on-site with limited teleworking options.

  • An active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years

  • Ability to assist senior analyst in conducting forensic examinations of digital devices, including computers, mobile phones and storage media

  • Perform documentation of examination processes and findings, ensuring adherence to chain of custody protocols

  • Experience preparing detailed reports summarizing forensic analysis results for legal and other stakeholders

  • Experience preparing and updating policies and procedures

  • Effective collaboration skills with Information Technology (IT) subject matter experts and cyber security response teams

  • Effective collaboration skills with team members on investigations, contributing to the identification of findings

  • Current with developments in digital forensics, cyber security, forensic law, mobile devices and encryption/decryption methods

Compensation Details:

$100,000 - $140,000
