Job description

The Engineering Intern supports the Engineering team in the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of beverage dispensing systems and related components. This role provides practical experience in a manufacturing environment and contributes to engineering projects, documentation, and process improvement initiatives. The intern works under close supervision while gaining exposure to cross-functional operations including production, quality, and supply chain.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
• Assist with product design, development, and testing activities under the direction of engineering staff
• Support engineering change processes, including documentation updates and revision control
• Create, update, and maintain technical documentation such as drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions
• Participate in prototype assembly, validation testing, and troubleshooting efforts
• Collect, organize, and analyze data to support engineering evaluations and process improvements
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to identify and address product or process issues
• Assist in CAD modeling, drawing revisions, and basic design modifications (as applicable)
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and efficiency projects
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures while working in office and production environments
QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum Requirements)
• Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• Basic knowledge of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow instructions, manage tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
• Familiarity with technical drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Prior internship, project, or academic experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Detailed understanding of engineering disciplines, procedures and policies which results in business development is required.
REASONING ABILITY: Candidate must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Candidate must also be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Lifting 25/lbs or more may be required. Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise and machinery.
