Starting Salary Range: $60,000 -70,000

EFK Moen, LLC, is a civil engineering design consulting firm headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri with additional office locations in St. Charles, Missouri, Chicago and Fairview Heights, Illinois, and Atlanta, Georgia. We are currently seeking a CAD Technician for a full-time position in our St. Louis, Missouri office. Our company offers a locally competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package.

Job Description:

Under the direction of a supervisor/mentor(s), the CAD Technician will perform CAD design services in a team-oriented environment. Project emphasis is transportation engineering design for both public and private sectors which range in scope from small to multimillion-dollar designs. Services are provided to a wide range of clients that include state DOTs and other governmental agencies - municipal, county and state.

Qualified applicants for this position should have an expressed interest in pursuing a career in transportation, bridge, and highway or traffic design.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive:

  • Create and modify high quality civil engineering drawings and exhibits; perform calculations and prepare maps; produce drawings and data for input into an Engineering Database and GIS
  • Apply advanced modeling techniques to develop and modify complex 2D and 3D models using a variety of CAD software programs
  • Work as part of a team to deliver quality design that adheres to the project budget and schedule
  • Responsible for ensuring that drawings are compliant with industry standards and provide quality control reviews on project drawings
  • Performs other job duties as assigned

Minimum Knowledge/Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field
  • Completion of at least one drafting class (either AutoCAD or Microstation software preferred)
  • Strong verbal, written and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Excel and other general office software

Preferred Experience:

  • Drafting experience using AutoCAD and/or Bentley Microstation
  • Hands-on design plans preparation experience for public agency transportation projects
  • Grading or cross section experience using Civil 3D and/or Geopak SS2/SS4/ORD
  • Schematic drawing experience using Microsoft VISIO
  • Experience with terrain models or surfaces

Physical Qualifications:

  • Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to type and/or use a computer for extended periods of time
  • Sufficient visual ability to focus attention on extended use of electronic documents and software
