KENT Nutrition, a member of the
KENT WORLDWIDE family of companies has an exciting opportunity to join their team as a Manufacturing Operator in Arcade, NY! This is a weekend opportunity, working Friday through Monday, with both day and night shift options available.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate extruder and mash mixing equipment following safety and GMP guidelines.
- Meet or exceed all product quality standards.
- Complete operation and mixing reports accurately and on time.
- Clean equipment and work areas as assigned to maintain sanitation.
- Prevent contamination by properly setting turnheads and ensuring bins are clean before use.
- Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance needs.
- Assist with dumping birdseed as needed.
- Adjust operations as needed to maintain product integrity.
- Follow production schedules and sequencing procedures, including flushing and clean-outs.
- Handle and load micro-ingredients safely, including lifting up to 55 lbs. to a height of at least 4 feet.
- Maintain clean, organized ingredient storage areas and follow FIFO practices.
- Perform scheduled cleaning, servicing, and quality assurance tests.
- Keep production running efficiently to support downstream operations.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of mixing activities and samples.
- Other duties as assigned by Plant Management.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
- Good communication skills.
- Understanding of feed manufacturing and willingness to learn and grow.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Understanding of feed mill equipment and layout.
- Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 55 lbs. from floor to working height as job requires.
