CAD Technician
Location: North Reading, Massachusetts (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract
Role Overview
The role involves creating detailed drawings of material handling equipment and work areas, supporting future design initiatives, and designing supply chain solutions. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal direction to create drawing sets that standardize designs across a large network of fulfillment operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create detailed drawings of material handling equipment, work areas, and components.
  • Develop and maintain automation tools for the team.
  • Understand and translate complex workflows into logical, maintainable Python code.
  • Write Python scripts to read/write files (CSV, JSON, XML), parse data, and apply rules consistently.
  • Handle edge cases, errors, and exceptions within automation scripts.
  • Support continued updates for design scales across multiple building templates.
  • Design supply chain solutions centered around package sorting and processing.
Required Qualifications
Education: Minimum of an Associate's Degree
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of operating experience in CAD with the ability to work with and manage layers. Minimum of 1 year of experience drawing in a warehouse or fulfillment center environment. Experience writing code in Python or C.
Technical Skills: Experience with CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks). Proficiency in Python or C for scripting and automation. Basic knowledge of material handling and storage systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.

Compensation & Benefits
