Job description

On Site Personnel is seeking an experienced PBS Manufacturing/CAD Engineer to join a growing team supporting innovative off-site construction projects. This role is responsible for creating detailed CAD models, shop drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and manufacturing documentation while working closely with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

Responsibilities: CAD Engineer:
  • Develop CAD/CAM models using Revit files and construction documents.
  • Produce shop drawings, material takeoffs, bills of materials (BOMs), cut lists, and fabrication documents.
  • Create and maintain CAD standards and operating procedures to improve production efficiency.
  • Support virtual fabrication and design-for-manufacturing initiatives.
  • Perform quality control reviews of models, drawings, and production data.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and project teams to ensure accurate and timely project delivery.
  • Participate in process improvement and research initiatives to enhance manufacturing workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and operational standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications: CAD Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in building design, construction engineering, or a related industry.
  • At least 3 years of 3D modeling experience using CAD software (CadWork experience preferred).
  • Experience producing shop drawings, coordination drawings, fabrication documentation, and installation details.
  • Knowledge of modular, panelized, or off-site construction is highly preferred.
  • Ability to interpret structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (SMEPF) construction documents.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Location: CAD Engineer:
  • Remote (California residents only)
  • Occasional travel to the Tejon Ranch, CA facility (approximately once every three months)
