Saalex is seeking an Computer Operator II in Ridgecrest, CA. Saalex is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $27.09/hr

Work Location: Fully onsite.

Job Summary:

The Computer Operator II supports the processing, management, and delivery of engineering and test data products in support of aircraft and mission systems programs. Under general supervision, the incumbent extracts data from aircraft test media, processes and validates data products, manages data organization and storage, and distributes approved deliverables to government customers through approved data transfer systems. The position also supports computer operations, data handling activities, equipment inventory, troubleshooting, and operational support functions.

Essential Functions

  • Extract data from aircraft test media and other approved data sources.
  • Process, organize, validate, and prepare engineering and test data products for delivery to customers.
  • Submit processed data products to government customers via the Data Warehouse.
  • Clear and manage aircraft media storage devices when required to support ongoing flight and test operations.
  • Comply with established computer operations policies, standards, procedures, and data handling requirements.
  • Gather and organize data for engineering, technical, operational, and management reporting purposes.
  • Organize, monitor, and maintain computer input, output, and data processing workflows.
  • Assist in the maintenance, inventory control, and accountability of computer equipment and associated peripherals.
  • Provide support for troubleshooting operational hardware, software, and data processing issues and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support related to operational computer systems and data processing activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of contract and customer requirements.

 Working Conditions

  • Work is performed primarily in an office, laboratory, or data processing environment.
  • Frequent use of computers and data processing equipment.
  • Occasional lifting of equipment or media up to 20 pounds may be required.
  • Occasional travel to customer or remote work locations may be required.

Requirements

Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in computer operations, data processing, data management, information systems support, or related technical work.
  • Experience processing, managing, organizing, or distributing digital data products.
  • Experience working with computer systems, data management tools, or integrated software applications.
  • Ability to accurately extract, validate, and manage technical or engineering data.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under deadlines while maintaining data accuracy and quality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard computer operating environments.

Desired:

  • Previous experience supporting Navy, DoD, aviation, flight test, or engineering organizations.
  • Experience processing aircraft test data or mission systems data products.
  • Familiarity with data transfer repositories, archival systems, or data warehouse environments.
  • Experience supporting laboratory, flight test, or engineering data collection activities.
  • Experience maintaining inventories of computer hardware, media devices, or related equipment.
  • Familiarity with handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and following data protection procedures.

Education:

Associate degree, vocational/technical training, military training, or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Operations, Data Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred. Additional relevant military or technical experience may be substituted for formal education.

Security Clearance:

Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
