Job description

CNC Lathe Machinist

Intertec Engineering a specialized high-precision aerospace components manufacturer with advanced CNC mill, lathe and turning capabilities is seeking a Sr. Level CNC Lathe machinist to perform operations, maintenance, and service on are wide variety of CNC and Manual machines including a 7 Axis Tornos Swiss Lathe.


In addition to production, we offer expert repair implementation services, ensuring continued performance and reliability of mission-critical parts. With a relentless focus on quality, performance, and innovation, we deliver mission-critical parts that meet the most demanding specifications in the aerospace industry.


This is an hourly contract opportunity that will require this CNC Manufacturing professional to be on-site at our 15, 000 sq. foot facility in Tempe, AZ.


The CNC Machinists will provide expertise in manufacturing of machined parts in accordance with manufacturing procedures and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.

Required Skills:

  • 5 - 10 years of Machining background.
  • Proven background and experience setting up, operating and maintaining any type of Swiss machine.
  • Ability to review blueprints and drawings to determine set-up procedures, machining sequences, and dimensions. Must be able to set up jobs by loading programs, select fixtures, part holders, and tooling to machine parts to specifications.
  • Familiarity with CNC machine controls and their functions (adjusting tool offset, indicating fixtures or parts, change tools and following along with the part program).
  • Ability to monitor tools and attachments to ensure parts are properly cooled and lubricated.
  • Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and surface finishes related to blueprint requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and geometric tolerances.
  • Mathematic skills include, but are not limited to, adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra for calculating material fabrication.
  • Must be capable of using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, dial bores, thread gauges, and basic measuring tools.
  • Familiar with Fusion 360, and PartMaker SwissCam preferred.
