Job Title: Mixer Operator

Location: Uxbridge, Ontario
Department: 4000MX
Reports To: Plant Manager

Position Overview

The Mixer Operator is responsible for accurately blending spices, seasonings, and dry ingredients according to production specifications. This role ensures product quality, consistency, and safety while maintaining a clean and efficient work environment in compliance with food manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate mixing equipment to blend spices and seasonings as per batch formulas and production schedules.
  • Weigh and measure ingredients accurately using scales and other measuring devices.
  • Verify batch numbers, lot codes, and raw materials to ensure accuracy and traceability.
  • Monitor mixing times, speeds, and blending processes to maintain product quality and consistency.
  • Inspect finished blends for proper texture, colour, and aroma before packaging.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of mixing equipment and work areas to meet HACCP and food safety standards.
  • Complete production logs, batch records, and quality control forms accurately.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and company safety protocols at all times.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or deviations to supervisors promptly.
  • Assist with inventory control of raw ingredients and supplies as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift license or willing to achieve.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, spice blending, or batch mixing preferred.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards is an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret batch sheets, production formulas, and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a production environment.
