Job description

RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Create and maintain CNC Programs and associated log files for all shop floor CNC machines, utilizing CATIA V5, ICAM, NCSimul and MSOffice software. Implement Laser Tool Measuring on appropriately equipped machines.

• Create and maintain Setup Sheets, Tooling Lists (Kit Reports) and Tool Life Tracking/Maintenance forms per CNC Programming and production requirements.

• Create and maintain Probing routines required to accurately setup part datum and/or part measurements, ensuring part quality through repeatability.

• Liaise with all Mfg. Eng. Sections to ensure a robust manufacturing process (Manufacturing Methods, Tool and Fixture Design, Tool and Fixture Procurement, CMM Programming and CAD/CAM Development).

• Recommend and implement quality or process improvement actions including corrective action for non-conformance and cost reduction.

• Respond to shop floor requests for problem solving assistance.

• Lead and support initiatives to continually improve cost, quality, delivery, health, safety and environmental performance, to bring the best solutions to our customers.

• Ability to support machine shop in timely manner.

• Actively be involved in any Health, Safety and Environment initiatives as HS&E is every employee’s responsibility


TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

• Must be proficient in CATIA V5 Software.

• Experience with Siemens and Fanuc Control is a must.

• Must be proficient with Simulation software such as NCSimul, Vericut etc.

• Post-secondary degree or diploma from a recognized college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 5+ years’ experience with CNC machining, machine shop and Machine Tool experience, including strong familiarity with CNC machines and Metal cutting methodologies.

• Demonstrated knowledge of cutting tools.

• Hands on experience using probes (Such as Renishaw, Marposs etc.,) on CNC Machines

• Strong math skills combined with the ability to troubleshoot and solve CNC related problems on the shop floor.

• Strong PC skills; demonstrated proficiency with other CNC programs considered an asset.
