Job description

Full time/hourly position.

Reports to: Information Technology Director

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides support for the Treasure Bay IT infrastructure, computer network and cyber security setup, configuration and support activities. Provides subject matter expertise, technical analysis and design proficiency of the computer network and cyber security defenses.

Designs, applies and creates technical network designs and implementation in support of business needs. Responds to all user requests in a timely manner and performs preventive maintenance on all company computers and peripherals as well as installation, configuration, upgrades, repairs and changes to all company computers, and peripherals.

1. In collaboration with the IT Director, designs and performs network engineering, administration, maintenance and analysis processes to provide network stability, performance and security. Document all changes and submit to IT Director for approval.

2. In collaboration with the IT Director, perform server operating system upgrades and configuration for Windows and VMware operating systems.

3. In collaboration with the IT Director, performs complex network changes and enhancements to network software and hardware.

4. Provides diagnosis and problem resolution for computer hardware and software issues, network connectivity, stability, network errors, performance and cybersecurity, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

5. Performs network software and hardware upgrades for all network hardware such as routers, access points, switches, firewalls and other network appliances.

6. Performs network performance and tuning activities.

7. Work with company cyber security partner for cyber threat monitoring, detection and resolution.

8. Contact network software and/or hardware vendors to resolve system problems.

9. Assists IT Manager with current inventory of IT network equipment and components.

10. Investigates and recommends the purchase of network technologies and tools.

11. Installs, uninstalls or repairs all software deemed necessary by IT management.

12. Creates network documentation, diagrams and drawings.

13. Train users on company systems.

14. Creates tickets for all requests and tasks in the KACE Systems Management system.

15. Remains on call (unless otherwise requested and approved) in case of system failure.

16. May need to work some evenings, nights, and weekends.

17. Other duties as requested by management.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Mississippi Gaming Work Permit REQUIRED.

EDUCATION OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

• 4 years experience in network, cyber security configuration and operations is preferred.

• Knowledge and experience with network (IP, routing and switching, routing protocols, load balancing, WAN, packet analysis, VLAN’s, firewall, web proxy,, capacity planning, call center, IT tools and other relevant technologies.)

• Advanced knowledge is required of Server and Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 and VM’s.

• Experience with phone switches, analog and digital circuits and/or VOIP.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

• Computer Science or Information Systems degree with Network engineering concentration preferred.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

The following activities are normally required to perform these functions: stand, walk, reach, climbing and descending ladders, read, write, eye to hand coordination, depth perception, effective verbal communication, strong math skills, and excellent organizational skills.
