SUMMARY: The Network Engineer is responsible for maintenance and installation of MCHD core network infrastructure, server operations, and data center management including related software and hardware. Instructs and assists all users in proper use of hosted applications. Responsible for the installation, and support of computer network equipment: including but not limited to Cisco/Ubiquiti Equipment, WAN systems, LAN systems, and related network management software. Responsible for all Server Infrastructure, including VMWare, VSAN and SAN, FiberChannel, Phone Systems, Backup platforms.   Provides support of personal computer software; including set-up and installation as well as basic working knowledge. Provides assistance to the entire MIS Staff so that the functions of MIS may be performed in accordance with standard operating procedures. Provides Microsoft systems support and assistance for Moore County Hospital District and affiliated offices as requested by the MIS Director. Carries out assignments of a broad nature while exercising some judgment and originality. Solves unusual problems with team support and demonstrates sound critical thinking skills to find solution. Has some independence for unreviewed action or decisions. Handles confidential information regarding patient records, payroll records, accounts payable records, vendor proprietary information, and general ledger records. Will perform all work with accord to the mission, vision, and values of Moore County Hospital District.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Requires bachelor's degree or with appropriate certifications, with at least five years experience. Years of experience may substitute for formal education requirements.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Good verbal and written communication skills are required. Advanced knowledge of, and demonstrated experience in, automated information processing and computer software/hardware required.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Certification from industry recognized organizations in the areas of application development, networking, and/or hardware preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Broad background and exposure to hospital departmental operations preferred.
