Job description

The Technology Intern will directly support the Chair, Department of Computer Science and Technology at Florida Memorial University. The intern will assist in administrative tasks, student engagement activities, peer tutoring, access code support for course material needed. Technology support for course access book, and special projects as assigned by the Chair. This internship provides valuable professional experience in computer science and technology career in the future.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in preparing equipment and technical requirements for computer labs.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and accountability.
  • Recruit qualified students for department programs.
  • Show effective analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Maintain strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Work well with diverse individuals and adapt to changing environments.
  • Manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven setting.
  • Note: Essential job functions must comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Create an engaging learning environment using varied teaching strategies.
  • Experience in conducting or directing is desirable.
  • Help maintain accurate scholastic records, including attendance,
  • Serve as a peer tutor for assigned courses.
  • Planning and coordination of school-related events, workshops, and conferences.
  • Assist with communications to faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
  • Contribute ideas toward student engagement, recruitment, retention, and marketing strategies.
  • Always maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chair.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current undergraduate (Junior/Senior level) enrolled in Al, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Management Information Systems or related fields.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with large groups and individuals at all work levels.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and software applications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in setup Pearson My Labs LTI 1.3 Deep Links for Blackboard Ultra course access.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in setting up uCertify LTI 1.3 Deep Links for Blackboard Ultra course access.
