We provide hundreds of service programs, including those for seniors and people with disabilities, those experiencing homelessness, and those recovering from addiction. VOA is one of the nation’s most comprehensive human services charities, offering programs for communities, individuals and families. 

VOA is seeking a Jr. Tech Support Specialist Intern to be an integral part of the Information Technology (IT) department as well as the Intern 2026 cohort team.  The selected candidate will be a dynamic self-starter to work on supporting business systems and end-user devices with an emphasis on providing a great customer service experience.  All candidates must be flexible, self-directed and possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Ideal candidates will have excellent writing and communication skills as well as good time management, an ability to stay on task and willingness to learn new areas. This role will provide a great opportunity to learn about technology operations and networks. 

This position is part-time (up to 29 hours per week) and is completely On-Site

The internship is unpaid, however, a stipend is provided 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide great customer service experience to staff on resolving technical issues
  • Responsive and follows up on technical issues in a timely manner
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software for in-office and remote staff
  • Resolve data and telecom connectivity issues for users including LAN and wireless networks
  • Setup and deploy end-user devices for in-office and remote staff
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve copiers and printers on-premises or offsite
  • Provide basic training on device and application usage to staff
  • Document all technical services provided in the help desk ticketing system

Physical Capabilities:

  • Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.
