Job description

Job Summary:
Veterans Sourcing Group, LLC is seeking a Network Analyst to support various digitization projects within their IT Network Services team. The role involves installing and configuring network systems, diagnosing network issues, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure optimal network performance.
Responsibilities:
• Install new hardware or software systems or components, ensuring integration with existing network systems.
• Install or repair network cables, including fiber optic cables.
• Install network software, including security or firewall software.
• Install and configure wireless networking equipment.
• Work with vendors to diagnose and resolve network problems.
• Operate and configure protocol analyzers to diagnose issues, analyze captured data using network protocols, and use network monitoring software to detect conditions requiring corrective action or performance tuning.
• Assist with the integration, maintenance, and problem resolution of network services and wiring infrastructures by working with other networking and telecommunications staff, user support entities, vendors, and end-users, including NYPA contractors and guests.
• Ensure accurate records are kept of network components, maintenance activities, network connections, accounts, and inventory.
• Program network applications as needed, such as web, network monitoring, bandwidth utilization, general data collection, reporting, and automated response to abnormal or undesirable network conditions.
• Contribute to the overall success of Information Services by performing all other essential duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Proven experience as a Network Analyst, Network Administrator, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall configurations.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and software such as SolarWinds, OpManager, and Splunk.
• Familiarity with network security practices and frameworks such as NIST and CIS.
• Experience with ticketing systems like ServiceNow.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience with cloud-based network solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Industry training and certifications directly correlating with NYPAs infrastructure (i.e., CCNP, AWS cloud practitioner, F5 201/301 etc.).
• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in a computer science, engineering, or related technical or business discipline.
• Minimum 5 years quality technical experience (or a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience for non-degree holders).
