Job description

Job Summary:
Velocity Search Group is working with a major entertainment company located in Long Island, NY to recruit a Cisco Engineer. The role involves ensuring the reliability of production systems through monitoring, troubleshooting, and problem resolution, while also engaging in project-engineering and operational responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
• Create, develop, and improve troubleshooting and restoral procedures and to use their technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve newly encountered problems that have not been previously documented
• Use strong decision-making skills to prevent and resolve all technical issues related to networking, including those that are system wide as well as individual customer problems
• Obtain, understand, and interpret performance data and implement necessary solutions or upgrades
• Create and maintain logs, records, diagrams, and reports of all related systems under the Networking Team
• Engage in project-engineering in addition to their operational responsibilities
• Leverage a proactive mindset to look for issues and automate solutions
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience working in a dynamic, high-pressure production environment with a mid to large systems and storage infrastructure with multiple sites/networks
• More than 7+ years previous hands-on network administration of the following:
• Routing protocols and configurations to support BGP, OSPF, EIGRP & SD-WAN networks
• Strong knowledge of switching and configuration options (Spine/Leaf, VPC, VSS, StackWise, vxLAN)
• Experience maintaining Cisco routing and switching software (NS-OX, IOS-XE, IOS)
• Experience maintaining Cisco Routing/Switching hardware (ISR, ASR, Nexus, Catalyst)
• Experience installing and maintaining Palo Alto Networks security appliances and software
• Experience maintaining WiFi services in an enterprise environment
• Experience maintaining AAA platforms (Aruba ClearPass, Cisco ISE)
• Experience maintaining Public Cloud network connectivity (AWS, AZURE)
• Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities based on workload
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
• Solid troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related equivalent education required
Preferred:
• Certifications from Cisco, Palo Alto or related technology certifications are preferred
