Job description

Tele-Consultants, Inc. (TCI) is seeking several qualified Network Engineers to support the design, development, integration, testing, evaluation, and sustainment of Submarine and Shore Network and Communications Subsystems in support of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT). Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Provide engineering support for network and communication systems throughout the system lifecycle, including concept development, design, integration, test, deployment, and sustainment
• Integrate Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) communications equipment into system architectures, including routers, switches, radio transceivers, and modems
• Develop, review, and execute test plans, test procedures, and test reports
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including: Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), discrepancy and problem reports, system operating procedures, user manuals and maintenance documentation, and engineering drawings and wirelists
• Support system troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of technical issues
• Interface with government personnel, contractors, and cross-functional engineering teams
• Participate in technical reviews, design review, and program meetings Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of professional experience in network or systems engineering
• ADNS experience a PLUS!
• Top Secret Clearance required. Experience with:
• COTS networking and communications equipment integration
• Advanced networking technologies: MPLS/VPLS, multicast, IPv6
• Information Assurance (IA)/Cybersecurity, including: Cisco Firewalls, Access Control Lists (ACLs), VPN technologies, and CBAC, PAM, ZPF/ZBFW
• Automation and scripting: Ansible, Cisco scripting (TCL, EEM) Additional Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of network architecture and design principles
• Working knowledge of: routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), switching technologies (Layer 2/Layer 3, VLANs), Quality of Service (QoS), Voice over IP (VoIP)
• Familiarity with Cisco networking technologies
• Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN) concepts
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Git, GitLab CI/CD)
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to develop clear and concise technical documentation
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment The primary location for performance of the work will be in Newport, RI with occasional travel, if any, required CONUS and OCONUS.
