Job description

Job Summary:
COLSA Corporation is seeking a Network Architect (Journeyman) to support SOCOM SOCRATES networks at SOCOM HQ at MacDill AFB in Tampa, Florida. In this role, you will provide networking engineering expertise to mission-critical systems and communications networks supporting Department of Defense customers.
Responsibilities:
• Design, configure, maintain, and support enterprise network infrastructure across cloud and on premises environments, including hot and cold site architectures.
• Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking technologies, including BGP (iBGP/eBGP), OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, VXLAN, OTV, VLANs, Spanning Tree, and switching/aggregation.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting to identify and resolve complex network, routing, switching, MAC address, VLAN, and application connectivity issues.
• Configure and support service provider routers, WAN connectivity, and enterprise network infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain secure network communications using firewalls, security appliances, VPNs, IKE, IKEv2, IPsec, and MACsec.
• Support cloud networking and integration with enterprise network infrastructure.
• Support Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) architectures and understand the implementation of CSfC connectivity packages.
• Monitor network performance and recommend improvements to optimize reliability, security, and availability.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, standards, and technical procedures.
• Develop basic automation scripts using Python and Ansible to automate routine network administration tasks.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to support infrastructure projects, system implementations, and operational requirements.
• Ensure compliance with organizational cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure engineering, or cloud networking
• Active TS/SCI security clearance required
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network architectures across hybrid cloud and on premises environments
• Hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies, including routing, switching, VPNs, SD-WAN, firewalls, and cloud networking (Azure Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, and Private Endpoints preferred)
• Experience implementing network security solutions, including Zero Trust architecture, network segmentation, and encryption standards
• Experience using network monitoring and diagnostic tools to maintain network performance, availability, and reliability
• Experience supporting geographically distributed organizations with multiple locations and remote users
• Experience working in regulated or security-focused environments
Preferred:
• Experience supporting SCIF or secure facility network environments
• Familiarity with CSfC and Type One encryption methods
• Attained industry recognized certifications such as CCNP, CCNA or some subset of those certifications (Cisco routing and switching, for example)
